2005 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN REVIEW COMMITTEE MINUTES OF OCTOBER 17, 2005 Members Present: Betty Waters, Ed Matuszak, John Tomerlin, Chester Pool City Staff Present: David Brady City Planner Masood Malik, Director of Planning Wayne Sabo Members Absent: 1. CALL TO ORDER MeetingcalJed to order by Chairperson Betty Waters at 7:05 p.m. 2. APPROVE MINUTES OF THE SEPTEMBER 19, 2005 MEETING. Motion by John Tomerlin to approve the minutes of August 15, 2005. Second by Chester Poole. The minutes were approved as presented. 3. DISCUSS SUMMARY OF COMPREHENSIVE PLAN, CHAPTERS 1-13 The following was noted during the discussion: o Wayne Sabo provided an OVe1Vjew of some of the Cjty's ongoing projects: PPG property. Clay Development, and Tx Import/Export. :J Upcoming P & Z items were discussed, with special emphasis placed on the Economic Development Study presentation to be given by staff to Planning & Zoning Commission at the 10/20/2005 meeting. 4. DISCUSS fORMAT fOR ADDENDUM TO COMPREHENSIVE PLAN The following was noted during the discussion: o Committee members made minor corrections to the draft of the Comprehensive Plan Review document; (p. 20 "...Bayshore Elementary," and p. 36 "Whelen System..."). o The Committee requests that the post-hurricane EOC strategy be added to the Comprehensive Plan Review document. 5. CONSIDER FUTURE GOALS AND OBJECTIVES u GeneraJ discussion was held on this item. 6. ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS The following was noted during the discussion: o After updating the Comprehensive Review Plan document with the recommendations of the Committee and further recommendations of the Staff, the document will be presented to the Planning & Zoning Commission at the November 17, 2005 meeting. 7.
