<br />Drainage and Flooding Committee Meeting - May 12, 2008 <br /> <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />James Clark of Harris County Precinct Two will report back at the next meeting concerns with <br />East Main Street, Blocks 600 - 1000 holding water and the flooding at Barbours Cut Blvd. and <br />East Main. <br /> <br />Mr. Clark also reported drawings were received for Spencer Hwy and Valley Brook and hopes to <br />be out for bid within the next month. <br /> <br />6. Receive update from City Staff on Little Cedar Bayou clearing project and consider making <br />possible recommendations to La Porte City Council. <br /> <br />Director of Public Works Steve Gillett reported on May 7th City Staff met with Harris County Flood <br />Control District and conducted a site visit at the project. It was determined the flow line needs de <br />swaging and selective clearing to underbrush. <br /> <br />John Randolph with Harris County Flood Control District added he has the recommendation for <br />the project discussed in the field and will bring back a proposal to the city next week after <br />meeting with the Director of Infrastructure. <br /> <br />7. Receive update from City Staff on F101 Project. <br /> <br />John Randolph with Harris County Flood Control District reported he has a meeting this week <br />with the Utility Coordinator and Director of Operations to discuss the pipe line study and will have <br />to meet with Harris County Precinct Two that also has information on the project. <br /> <br />The Committee advised ditches need to be mowed more frequently than three times a year. <br /> <br />Chairman Mosteit requested Harris County Flood Control District and Harris County Precinct Two <br />to communicate the City of La Porte flooding and drainage concerns to Commissioner's Court <br /> <br />8. Received update from City staff regarding preliminary engineering report for Creekmont <br />Subdivision Park drainage. <br /> <br />Gary Struzick with Klotz and Associates reported he has a draft report he's not completely <br />satisfied with and requested a few more days to have further evaluating time. <br /> <br />9. Administrative Reports. <br /> <br />A. Receive reports from City Staff, Harris County Flood Control District and Harris County <br />Precinct Two on drainage and flooding <br /> <br />Reports were received during meeting from City Staff, Harris County Flood Control <br />District and Harris County Precinct Two <br /> <br />10.
