MINUTES OF THE DRAINAGE AND FLOODING COMMITTEE <br />March 23, 2009 <br />1. Call to Order <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Mike Mosteit at 5:00 p.m. <br />Committee Members Present: Council Members: Chairman Mike Mosteit, Vice Chairman Mike <br />Clausen, Committee Members Chuck Engelken, Howard Ebow and Tommy Moser. <br />Committee Members Absent: None <br />Other Council members Present: None <br />Members of City Employees Present: City Secretary Martha Gillett, City Manager Ron Bottoms, <br />Director of Planning Tim Tietjens, Public Works Director Steve Gillett and City Engineer Rodney <br />Slaton. <br />Others present: Margaret Compton, Elton and Richard Winn, Richard Smith, Charles Nute, Cheryl <br />Westmoreland and other citizens. <br />2. Consider approval of Minutes of Drainage and Flooding Committee Meeting held on February 16, <br />2009. <br />Motion was made by Committee member Engelken to approve the minutes as presented. A second by <br />Committee Member Ebow. The motion carried. <br />Ayes: Tommy Moser, Mike Mosteit, Mike Clausen and Chuck Engelken <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: Ebow <br />Absent: None <br />3. Petitions, Remonstrance's, communications, and citizens and taxpayers wishing to address the <br />Drainage and Flooding Committee. <br />Margaret Compton — 10901 Dogwood — Ms. Compton informed the committee of continued concerns <br />with flooding and does not see a resolution. She informed the committee that cars have been lost due <br />to drainage problems. Ms. Compton requested driveways be enlarged and noted additional concerns <br />with drains. She also noted concerns with ditch off Fairmont Parkway. <br />4. Review two (2) agreements with Klotz Associates to perform, bid, design and construction phase <br />services and an impact analysis- S. Gillett <br />Public Works Director Steve Gillett provided an update to the committee regarding the agreements and <br />work to be performed by Klotz Associates on drainage projects. <br />5. Administrative Reports <br />Public Works Director Steve Gillett provided an overview of drainage projects. <br />
