<br />Mr. Struzick answered questions related to Alternatives 3, 4, & 5 of the Drainage Study, cost <br />estimates, duration time for completion of the studies and repetitive loss of properties. <br /> <br />Mr. Struzick reported there were not any changes to the Brookglen subdivision Drainage Study <br /> <br />5. Administrative Reports <br /> <br />Receive reports from City Staff, Harris County Flood Control District and Harris County <br />Precinct Two regarding city drainage issues. <br /> <br />Director of Public Works Steve Gillett informed the committee Public Works is continuing <br />the process of completing projects. He reported after completion of the projects they would <br />be moving forward with other in house projects including Bay Colony Drive. <br /> <br />Assistant City Manager John Joerns updated the committee on sheet flow projects and the <br />meetings staff has held with residents. Mr. Joerns informed the committee appointments <br />with residents continue to be scheduled. <br /> <br />Gary Struzick answered questions regarding the Drainage Improvement Plans in the City <br />of Deer Park. <br /> <br />The committee questioned staff about meetings with Harris County Flood Control District <br />and their joint participation for funding of drainage projects. <br /> <br />Mike Clausen questioned if the Committee should recommend a final alternative for the <br />Fairmont East Project. Steve Gillett recommended that the best alternative is likely a <br />combination of the three alternatives, and that Klotz should be retained to perform a <br />Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) that utilizes detailed survey information to determine <br />the optimal combination of the three alternatives and provides a detailed cost estimate of <br />the Project. An agreement to perform the PER could be ready for consideration at the <br />September 14, 2009 City Council meeting. The consensus of the Committee was to move <br />forward with this recommendation. <br /> <br />Harris County Flood Control District and Harris County Precinct 2 representatives were not <br />in attendance of the meeting. <br /> <br />6. Set date for next meeting <br /> <br />The Drainage and Flooding Committee set the next meeting date for September 21, 2009 <br />at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers. <br /> <br />7.
