<br />MINUTES OF THE DRAINAGE AND FLOODING COMMITTEE <br />February 16, 2010 <br /> <br />1. Call to Order <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Mike Mosteit at 6:05 p.m. <br /> <br />Committee Members Present: Chairman Mike Mosteit, Vice Chairman Mike Clausen, Chuck <br />Engelken, Louis Rigby and Alternate member Daryl Leonard. <br /> <br />Committee Members Absent: None <br /> <br />Other Council members Present: None <br /> <br />Members of City Employees Present: City Manager Ron Bottoms, Assistant City Manager John <br />Joerns, City Secretary Martha Gillett, Public Works Director Steve Gillett, and City Engineer <br />Rodney Slaton <br /> <br />Others present: Margaret Compton, John P. Zemanek, Jr., Charles Nute, Mac Duson, Lawrence <br />Dunbar, Cheryl Westmoreland, Charles Rothmund and Gary Struzik. <br /> <br />2. Consider approval of Minutes of Drainage and Flooding Committee Meeting held on September 21, <br />2009 - M. Gillett. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Committee member Clausen to approve the minutes as presented. Second <br />by Committee member Rigby. The motion carried. <br /> <br />Ayes: Mosteit, Clausen, Engelken and Rigby <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br />Absent: None <br /> <br />3. Petitions, Remonstrance's, communications, and citizens and taxpayers wishing to address the <br />Drainage and Flooding Committee. <br /> <br />Mac Duson - Attorney for Fairmont Park East Homeowner's Association - 4709 Austin St., <br />Houston, Texas 77004. Mr. Duson informed the committee he was very impressed with this <br />process of government. Noted it was the best he had seen. He requested additional time for the <br />Fairmont Park Homeowners to review the Preliminary Engineering Report before the committee <br />made a recommendation to City Council. They would like to have an opportunity to review and <br />provide the Drainage Committee with input. <br /> <br />Lawrence Dunbar of Lawrence G. Dunbar, PE - 6342 Dubridge - Mr. Dunbar has been hired to <br />review the Preliminary Engineering Report. Mr. Dunbar raised questions regarding the Preliminary <br />Engineering Report. He further noted the citizens need to know what the project will do for them. <br /> <br />Mr. Albritten - 2210 Lomax Dr.- gave handout that showed flooding around and near his home. He <br />asked the committee for some relief in his area. <br /> <br />4. Presentation and Preliminary Engineering Report for Fleetwood Drive Project and recommend <br />preferred alternative for final design - S. Gillett <br />
