Call to Order <br /> Chairman Jay Martin called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. The following members of the Drainage <br /> and Flooding Committee were present: Committee Members Chuck Engelken and John Zemanek. <br /> Absent: Vice-Chairman Danny Earp. Staff Present: Corby Alexander, Don Pennell, Lorenzo Wingate, <br /> and Patrice Fogarty. <br /> 2. Authorizations <br /> (a) Consider approval or other action regarding minutes of the Drainage and Flooding Committee <br /> Meeting held on August 13, 2018—P. Fogarty <br /> Committee Member Engelken moved to approve the minutes of the Drainage and Flooding Committee <br /> Meeting held on July 9, 2018, as presented. Committee Member Zemanek seconded. MOTION <br /> PASSED 3/0. Vice-Chairman Earp was absent <br /> 3. Staff Reports <br /> (a) Receive report from Harris County Flood Control District and Harris County Precinct 2 regarding <br /> current and future plans relating to flooding in the City of La Porte — L. Wingate/D. Pennell <br /> Layne Yeager with Harris County Precinct 2 and Jeremy Ratcliff with Harris County Flood Control <br /> District were in attendance. Jeremy Ratcliff provided an update on the progress of bond funding now <br /> that the bond election passed. <br /> Committee Member Engelken spoke in regards to flooding in the Brookglen subdivision. He stated that <br /> Brookglen has been studied many times over, and suggested the latest study be looked at to see if it is <br /> usable before spending more money on a study. He stated we all know it floods, and we know why it <br /> floods; it needs to be fixed, not studied. <br /> (b) Discussion regarding Community Development Block Grant Disaster recovery (CDBG-DR) <br /> Harris County Hurricane Harvey Method of Distribution — L.
