COUNCILPERSON <br />raxd 1 <br />MINUTES OF THE DRAINAGE AND FLOODING COMMITTEE MEETING <br />JUNE 14,2021 <br />The Drainage and Flooding Committee of the City of La Porte met on Monday, June 14, 2021, at the City <br />Hall Council Chambers, 604 West Fairmont Parkway, La Porte, Texas, at 5:00 p.m. to consider the <br />following items of business: <br />Committee Members present: Jay Martin, Chuck Engelken <br />Committee Members attending remotely: None - <br />Committee Members absent: Trey Kendrick, Bill 6entley <br />Council -appointed officers present: Corby Alexander, City Manager; Lee Woodward, City Secretary; Clark <br />T. Askins, Assistant City Attorney <br />CALL TO ORDER — Chairman Martin called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. <br />2. CITIZEN COMMENT (Generally limited to five minutes per person, in accordance with state law, the time <br />may be reduced if there is a high number of speakers or other considerations.) <br />There were no citizen comments. <br />3. STATUTORY AGENDA <br />a. Presentation, discussion, and possible action to approve the minutes of the <br />May 10, 2021, meeting. [Chairman Martin] <br />Member Engelken moved to approve the minutes the motion was seconded by Chair Martin: the motion <br />was adopted. 2-0. <br />b. Presentation, discussion, and possible action regarding an interlocal agreement between the City <br />of La Porte and the City of Pasadena related to land within the ETJ of the respective cities. <br />[Lorenzo Wingate, Assistant Director of Public Works] <br />Lorenzo Wingate, Assistant Public Works Director, confirmed all parties have signed the interlocal <br />agreement and that the City was taking steps to select an engineering firm and move forward with the <br />project. <br />c. Presentation, discussion, and possible action regarding the Harris County Flood Control <br />District's (HCFCD) and Harris County Precinct 2's current and future plans related to flooding in <br />the City of La Porte. [Lorenzo Wingate, Assistant Director of Public Works] <br />Mr. Wingate announced he had forwarded the Council updates to Harris County Flood Control District <br />(HCFCD) and that they had had no comments. <br />d.
