JAY MARTIN, CHAIRMAN <br />MAYOR PRO TEM <br />1 <br />1101 �' ; 19 <br />..........Ih IN <br />.3v <br />SEPTEMBER 13, 2021 <br />CHUCK ENGELKEN <br />COUNCILPERSON <br />BILL BENTLEY, ALTERNATE <br />COUNCILPERSON <br />The Drainage and Flooding Committee of the City of La Porte met on Monday, September <br />13, 2021, at the City Hall Council Chambers, 604 West Fairmont Parkway, La Porte, Texas, <br />at 5:00 p.m. to consider the following items of business* <br />Committee Mem�bers, present: Jay Martin, Chuck Engelken, Mandi Williams <br />Committee Members attending remiotely: Bill Bentley (alternate) <br />Committee Members absent: None <br />Council -appointed officers present: Corby Alexander, City Manager; Lee Woodward, City <br />Secretary; Clark T. Askins, Assistant City Attorney <br />CALL TO ORDER — Chairman Martin called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. <br />2. CITIZEN COMMENT (Generally limited to five minutes per person, in accordance with state <br />law, the time n7ay be reduced if there is a high number of speakers or other considerations.) <br />There were no citizen comments. <br />3. STATUTORY AGENDA <br />a. Presentation, discussion, and possible action to approve the minutes of the <br />August 9, 2021, meeting. [Chairman Martin] <br />Member Engelken moved to approve the minutes: the motion was seconded by 'Membe <br />Williams; the motion, was adopted, 3-0. <br />b. Presentation, discussion, and possible action regarding recommendation to the La <br />Porte City Council of proposed amendments to the City of La Porte Code of <br />Ordinances Chapter 94-Floods. [Lorenzo Wingate, Assistant Director of Public <br />Works] <br />Member Engelken moved to have staff rework the proposals and bring the ordinance back <br />at a later date; the motion was seconded by Member William% the motion was adopted, <br />2-0, Chair Martin voting against. The Committee elected to discuss the freeboard <br />clarifications andl, without obiection, chose to approve recommending, to Council the <br />minimum freeboard, clarifications necessarV to remain in compliance with the, minimum <br />CS requirements. <br />c. Presentation, discussion, and possible action regarding status, of drainage <br />infrastructure project for property near the Pasadena Convention Center, under <br />terms of the interlocal agreement between the City of La Porte and the City of <br />Pasadena.
