C. HCFCD Project Update -Presentation, discussion, and possible action <br />regarding Harris County Flood Control District (HCFCD) and Harris <br />County Precinct 2 current and future plans related to Flooding in the <br />City of La Porte. [Ray Mayo, Director of Public Works] <br />Mr. Mayo said the F-216 Channel project was moving into the preliminary <br />engineering and design and were expecting an interlocal agreement soon <br />for Phase I, as HCFCD has identified approximately $10 million for the <br />project. On the F-101 Channel/Lomax School Road to Valley View, he said <br />the interlocal agreement language was under legal review. Mr. Mayo said <br />that Battleground Estates channel improvements and detention pond work <br />project would proceed after the F-101 project commences. <br />Mr. Mayo confirmed Harris County was planning to desnag along Little <br />Cedar Bayou this summer. Member Williams received information on the <br />backup at Battleground Estates. He said the Brookglen Detention Basis <br />project information had been provided to the residents. Member Engelken <br />thanked staff for coming to the homeowners meeting. <br />d. Current Drainage Project Update - Presentation, discussion, and <br />possible action regarding the status of current drainage projects. [Ray <br />Mayo, Director of Public Works] <br />Mr. Mayo said there was progress with the Bayside Terrace project and that <br />staff had resolved an issue with tidiness at the job site. North of Main Street, <br />along the F216 Channel, Mr. Mayo said there were waiting on design for the <br />boxes under the freeway and would hopefully use grant funding for the <br />change order. He added that Brookglen Improvements Phase I was nearing <br />design completion and that the bid may go out next month. <br />e. Additional Drainage Concerns - Presentation, discussion, and <br />possible action to provide administrative staff of the City with <br />direction, if necessary, regarding additional drainage concerns. [Ray <br />Mayo, Director of Public Works] <br />No additional concerns were discussed. <br />4. SET NEXT MEETING <br />Without objection, the next meeting was set for June 10. <br />5. COMMITTEE COMMENT - Hear announcements concerning matters appearing <br />on the agenda; items of community interest, and/or inquiries of staff regarding <br />specific factual information or existing policy from the Committee members and <br />City staff, for which no formal action will be discussed. <br />Committee members each had appreciation to express to staff for work on <br />r community. <br />
