F ~ <br />• <br />MINUTES - REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LA PORTE FIRE CODE REVIEW COMMITTEE <br />MARCH 3- 1977 <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMMITTEE PRESENT: <br />J.J. Meza, Joe Sease, D.R. McLaughlin, Jack Lockridge, <br />Royal Shepherd, Fred Westergren, Vic Taylor, J.M. Goodman, <br />Dennis Dunham and Rusty Shepherd. <br />Rusty Shepherd was representing Russell Shepherd. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMMITTEE ABSENT: <br />Roy Groda, H. Carlos Smith and Joe Ligi. <br />PRESIDING: Jack Lockridge, Chairman <br />+ + + <br />1. CALL TO ORDER = Jack Lockridge called the meeting to order. <br />2. OLD BUSINESS - Each member was given a packet, which contained <br />a city map, a copy of ordinance # 622, a copy of the three state <br />fire code laws on the books and Article # 1 of the city ordinance. <br />Mr. Joe Ligi, was picked to be the representative for the <br />chemical and petroleum industry. <br />3. NEW BUSINESS - There was a open discussion, on where the two <br />fire zones are now, and what problems there will be in changing <br />the zones. <br />Joe Sease recommended that all commercial property be in the <br /># 1 fire zone. <br />There was some questions, if this was legal, and what if any <br />thing could be excluded. <br />The secretary was directed by the chairman, to check on the <br />legality of Joe Sease's recommendation. <br />It was recommended by the committee that a person from the <br />zoning board, be ask to attend the meetings as a adviser. <br />
