Owen: As you are no doubt aware we are in the process of preparing 22 acres on Houston Port Property on North L Street for handling import vehicles arriving at Barbours Cut. It is our hopes to be operational the latter part of this month. One of the functions of processing these vehicles is washing the cars before shipment to dealers. As the natural gas line is only available at Barbours Cut Blvd. and North Broad- way it was our plans due to economical reasons to provide the fuel necessary for the wash rack by propane. We have now been informed your fire code does not allow above ground propane tanks and we have also been informed the Railroad Com~ission does not permit such tanks to be buried therefore we have a problem. It would be greatly appreciated if permission could be granted to install a 10,000 gallon propane tank above ground conforming to your required safety standards.
