CALL TO ORDER - Jack Owen called the meeting to order <br />2. READING OF THE MINUTES - Minutes of the March 11 meeting were read and <br />approve ere was no meetin March 18 due to lack of a quorum and March <br />25 meeting was cancelled by Chairman Jack Owen. <br />Motion to approve the minutes as read was made by David Paulissen <br />Motion seconded: Delbert Walker <br />Ayes: All For <br />Nays: None <br />3. OLD BUSINESS - Article 3 - Division 5 - Sec. 3.11 (d) was discussed and tabled. <br />FIRE CODE REVISION - Article 3 - Division 5 - Sec. 3.20 was discussed <br />and tabled. <br />FIRE CODE REVISION - Article 3 - Division 5 - Sec. 3.21 was discussed and <br />tabled. <br />4. NEW BUSINESS - Article 3 - Division 7 - Sec. 3.27 (a & e) was discussed and <br />approved to read as follows: <br />ARTICLE 3 GENERAL PRECAUTIONS AGAINST FIRE <br />DIVISION 7 HEATERS, CHIl~IIVEYS, SMBJKESTACKS AND STOVES; GENERAL PROVISIONS <br />SEC. imne incinerators, smo estac ar ecue its, stoves, etc. <br />a A chimenys, smokestacks or similar vices or conveying smoke <br />or hot gases to the miter air and the barbecue pits, water heaters, furnaces, <br />incinerators or boilers to which they are connected, shall be constructed, <br />installed and maintained in accordance with $ie Building, Mechanical and Gas <br />Codes of the City of La Porte <br />(1) All cooking equipment, except in single and ~lti-family <br />dwellings, shall be placed under an exhaust system in canplaince with N.F.P.A. <br />96. Said .cooking equipment and exhaust system shall be protected by a dry <br />chemical extinguishing system in complaince with N.F.P.A. 17, installed and <br />inspected at least once a year by afire extinguishing ca~any licensed by <br />the State of Texas for installation and servicing of fixed fire extinguisher <br />systems.
