• <br />Page 2 <br />The chairman and vice-chairman of this board shall be <br />elected by the voting members of the board and shall be voting. <br />members only. <br />The Fire Marshal shall be the Secretary to the Fire Code <br />Review Board. It shall be his duty to post notices of <br />meetings, kee1~ minutes and all correspondence of the Board, <br />or any other duties as may be assigned by the Board. <br />The term of office for the Fire Code Review Board shall <br />be two (2) years in length or until a successor is appointed <br />and qualified. <br />A quorum of the Fire Code Review Board shall be required <br />to hold any meetings. A quorum shall be five (5) voting mem- <br />bers present. <br />The Chairman shall request replacement for any member who <br />has missed three (3) consecutive posted meetings without being <br />excused. <br />Whenever any position on the Board shall become vacant by <br />reason of deatiz, resignation or removal, the Chairman will <br />notify the Mayor of the City of La Porte and appointments <br />shall be made from the proper district for the unexpired term <br />of the member being replaced. <br />Regular meetings of the Board shall be held on the second <br />Thursday of each month to consider variances as required. All <br />other meetings shall be called by the Chairman as deemed neces- <br />sary. <br />The duties of the Fire Code Review Board shall be to <br />consider variances, to interpret the provisions of the fire <br />code, to recommend changes in the fire code, to hear appeals <br />from decisions of the Fire Chief or Fire Marshal. The Fire <br />Code Review Board shall submit an annual report to City Council <br />of actions taken by the Board during the preceding year, together <br />with any recommendations to amend the City of La Porte Fire Code. <br />Niotion was made by Jerry Hodge to accept.
