La Porte Fire Department - Pension Board Minutes from August 27, 2007 meeting Meeting held at City Hall- Members present at meeting include - Johnny Jones, Mark Campise, Jeff Suggs, & Tom Dye. Members not present - John Joerns & Jack Oliphant. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Jones @ 17: 15. The minutes were read from the previous meeting. A motion to approve the minutes was made by J. Suggs and seconded by Tom Dye. The motion carried. J. Jones reported that term for board member Jeff Suggs had been approved for a two year extension by the LPFD membership at the June 2007 business meeting. A motion to ratify the extension made by the membership was made by J. Jones and seconded by Tom Dye. The motion carried. J. Jones reported that he had been contacted by retired member Hank Craddock to say that he would submitting his paperwork to begin receiving his pension. A motion was made to approve Hank Craddock's paperwork as soon as it is turned in. The motion was made by J. Suggs and seconded by Mark Campise. Due to the fact that Hank Craddock has left the department and there will be no qualification issues, there is no need to meet again, we can approve it at this meeting, the motion carried. J. Jones report that the Pension Commission had requested comments on some proposed changes to the pension system rules however due to delaying in meeting scheduling caused from not having a quorum to meet, the deadline to submit comments had passed. However in reviewing the proposed changes, they seemed to have little to no impact on our membership. A motion to adjourn was made by T. Dye and seconded by J. Suggs.
