La Porte Fire Department - Pension Board Minutes from July 17, 2008 meeting Meeting held at City Hall- Members present at meeting include - Johnny Jones, John Joerns, Jeff Suggs, Tom Dye Members not present - Jack Oliphant. New members Marc Clarke and Gary Crager Chairman Jones called the meeting to order @ 18:07. The minutes were read from the previous meeting. There was a correction to the minutes Location Fire Training Facility and the ending time from 17:35 to 18:35 a motion to approve the minutes with the corrections was made by J. Suggs and seconded by Tom Dye. The motion carried. A motion to accept new members to replace Mark Campise and Johnny Jones with Marc Clarke and Gary Crager was made by made by Jeff Suggs and seconded by Tom Dye. The motion carried. A motion to nominate the Chairman Marc Clarke, Secretary Gary Crager and Vice President Jeff Sugg was made by made by John Joerns and seconded by Johnny Jones The motion carried. A motion to approve Cindy Boaze retirement pending receive proper paper work was made by Mtuk CliYke and seconded by Tom Dye. 3<-ttCSttrllS ~ Discussion was held on the proposed changes to the fire fighters pension rules. No recommendations were made. A motion was made to make no recommendations by John Joerns seconded by Jeff Suggs. Motion passed. New board members need to be sworn in. Mark Clarke, Gary Crager and they need to have access to pension database. No Administrative reports were submitted No board member comments were discussed A motion to adjourn was made by John Joerns and seconded by J. Suggs. The motion carried, meeting adjourned at 18:38.
