La Porte Fire Department - Pension Board Minutes from January 22, 2009 meeting Meeting held at Fire Training Facility - Members present at meeting include - Johnny Jones, John Joerns, Jeff Suggs, and Tom Dye, New members Marc Clarke and Gary Crager Chairman called the meeting to order @ 18:05. A motion to suspend the meeting to administer the oath of office to Marc Clarke, Gary Crager, and Johnny Jones was made by John Joerns seconded by Jeff Suggs. The motion carried. The meeting was suspended; Tammy Kannarr (La Porte Fire Dept. Administrative Assistant) administered the oath of office to Marc Clarke, Gary Crager, and Johnny Jones. Meeting reconvened. The minutes were read from the previous meeting. There was a correction to the minutes John Joerns made the motion to approve Cindy Boaze. A motion to approve the minutes with corrections was made by John Joerns and seconded by Tom Dye. The motion carried. A motion to replace Jack Oliphant with Johnny Jones on pension board was made by made by Jeff Suggs and seconded by Tom Dye. The motion carried. Discussion was held regarding the approval of the annual pension report. A motion to accept the executive board recommendations was made by Jeff Suggs and seconded by Johnny Jones. A motion to approve Mike Detizmans retirement (28 years) was made by John Joerns and seconded by Tom Dye. No Administrative reports were submitted Board member comments: John Joerns suggested that the Attorney General office recommends that the agenda will need to have an A and B included per Attorney General. A motion to adjourn the meeting made by John Joerns and seconded by Johnny Jones. The motion carried, meeting adjourned at 18:22. Submitted, 2009 - Gary Crager, Pension Board Secretary.
