Mayor & City Council <br />City of La Porte <br />via email <br /> <br />Re: City of La Porte Audit <br /> <br />Dear Mr. Kohler: <br /> <br />I had a telephone conversation with Benjamin Miller, Houston <br />attorney who represents Garson Silvers and East A Developments, LP, <br />this morning. Mr. Miller confirmed that East A Developments, LP, <br />has not filed a bankruptcy petition with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court. <br /> <br />At the request of the Fiscal Affairs Committee, our office obtained <br />from The Research Staff, Inc., a title abstracting firm in Houston, <br />a title report on the following described property, to-wit: <br /> <br />All of Lots 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and the West 56.4 feet of Lots <br />11, 12 and 13, in Block 198 of TOWN OF LA PORTE, an <br />addition in Harris County, Texas, according to the map or <br />plat thereof recorded in Volume 8, Page 16 of the Map <br />Records of Harris County, Texas, <br /> <br />which was owned by East A Developments, LP. <br /> <br />The title examiner found the following liens against the property, <br />which are listed in order of lien priority, in chronological order: <br /> <br />First Lien: <br /> <br />The first lien is for $157,000.00, which was executed on March 26, <br />2009, from East A Developments, LP, to Real Property Mortgage and <br />Investment Co., Inc., which was the re-financing of the East A <br />Developments, LP, deed of trust mortgage to the City of La Porte <br />Development Corporation. This lien was transferred on the same <br />date to Gayle Investment Company, which had a prior lien of <br />$110,000.00, which was executed on October 17, 2007. <br /> <br />702 W.
