• GOLF COURSE ADVISORY BOARD MEETING <br />MINUTES OF APRIL 28, 1988 <br />PAGE 2 <br />In all the course seems to be coming along real good, <br />cleaning up the cart paths, etc. will be the last things <br />to be done. <br />Dennis Dunham said that it was his understanding that <br />once they finish the parking lot we were going to get <br />the driving range open ("that's from last year's <br />conversation), is this still right and does it just <br />hinge on the parking lot being finished? Alex told him <br />that no one could be allowed in until the parking lot <br />was finished and yes, they still plan to open the <br />driving range ahead of time. Bob H. said we might not <br />say "ahead of time", but that it would be one of the <br />first things to open on the golf course. Joel stated in <br />terms of time table, they anticipate pouring the rest of <br />the concrete for the parking lot Friday, April 29th and <br />then it will take a minimum of a week "cure time" before <br />equipment can be driven in across it. <br />• Joel stated that the first thing to be brought in will <br />be the portable office cae will be moving there. After <br />that, the driving range will be made available. <br />Dennis Dunham's other question was, wouldn't it be <br />feasible to come up with proximity date for opening the <br />golf course in 1988? He said the citizens are coming up <br />with many different dates and he felt everyone should <br />agree on one date. After discussion the Board agreed <br />that the date for the driving range would be July 15th <br />and the course date would be September 1, 1988. <br />ITEM N0. 4: ~ PE ORT Or1 THE CITY_~„OUNCIL_MEETING O~APRIL_ 2~,,.Y1~.$8 <br />Bob H. stated that at the meeting of City Council the <br />Council did received information from the Golf Course <br />Advisory Board. On an item of this nature the Council <br />does like to spend time reviewing it and so a workshop <br />was scheduled for May 9, 1988 starting at 6:00 PM. Bob <br />stated that they liked the basic packet treat was <br />presented. One of the areas that they are looking at is <br />the wording of the "Charter Membership". David stated <br />that the wording "Charter Membership" was used for <br />people who don't play golf, but want to be a part of the <br />golf course and in on the beginning. Richard Hayes said <br />• he felt for the golfer it is just a way of prepaying his <br />green fees, but for someone that is not a golfer, it's a <br />way to show his/her support for the golf course.
