<br />LA PORTE AREA WATER AUTHORITY BOARD <br /> <br />August 16, 1982 <br /> <br />PRESENT: Cary Burnley, Jerry Bramlett, Susan Gilliland, Al Fields, <br />Dave Anderson, Jack Owen, City Manager, John Armstrong, City <br />Attorney, Jerry Hodge, Director of Public Works, Linda Wilson, <br />Public Works Secretary <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:30 P.M. by Cary Burnley, President. <br /> <br />The first item on the agenda was approval of the July 19, 1982 minutes. <br />Mr. Burnley stated the minutes would be accepted as written and the vote <br />was unanimous. <br /> <br />The next item on the agenda to be discussed were reports on Engineering <br />firms and ReQuest for Proposal. Jerry Bramlett presented the Board with <br />the final copy of the ReQuest for Proposal. After discussion and stated <br />corrections to be made, the committee recoll1Jnended that the ReQuest for <br />Proposal be accepted. With no further discussion, the vote was unanimous. <br />It was reQuested that Jerry Hodge prepare a cover letter to accompany the <br />reQuests to be mailed on Friday, August 20, 1982. <br /> <br />Al Fields presented his committee report on Engineering firms. After some <br />discussion, it was decided by the Board to go into an Executive Session. <br />A motion was made by Jerry Bramlett and seconded by Susan Gilliland, the <br />vote was unanimous. <br /> <br />After reconvening from the Executive Session, the committee recommended the <br />ReQuest for Proposal package be sent to the following companies: <br /> <br />1. Lockwood, Andrews & Newman, Inc. <br />2. Turner, Collier & Braden, Inc. <br />3. Hennsington, Durham & Richardson <br />4. Frees & Nichols <br /> <br />Upon recommendation by the committee and with no further discussion, the <br />vote was unanimous. <br /> <br />It was recommended that Jerry Hodge be made the contact person in relation to <br />the ReQuest for Proposals. A motion to accept this was made by Jerry Bramlett <br />and seconded by Al Fields, with the vote being unanimous. <br />
