LA PORTE AREA WATER AUTHORITY BOARD

JULY 18, 1983

PRESENT: Susan Gilliland, Cary Burnley, Al Fields, Jerry Bramlett,
Jerry Hodge, Director of Public Works, Jack Owen, City Manager,
John Armstrong, City Attorney

The meeting was called to order by Susan Gilliland at 6:07 P.m.

The minutes of the June 20, 1983 meeting were reviewed and one correction
was made, in that Jerry Bramlett was not present at this meeting. The
minutes are to be corrected.

Turner Collie & Braden presented an updated report with specific comments
added to the proposed schedule of water system improvements. The map
and schedule of the system improvements and schedule was through the year 2003.

A discussion was held on the possibility of the purchase of a water
treatment plant with Shell and Phillips Oil Companies. Everything seems
positive, but will survey further.

Turner Collie & Braden reported that they hoped to have a final plan by the
next scheduled meeting.

Above ground storage was also discussed at length.

With no further business to discuss, a motion was made by Cary Burnley and
seconded by Al Fields to adjourn at 7:10 P.M. The vote carried unanimously.

Susan Gilliland, President

Travis Doughty, Secretary
