<br />LA PORTE AREA WATER AUTHORITY BOARD <br /> <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />May 7, 1986 <br /> <br />1. The meeting was called to order at 6:00 P.M. by Vice President <br />Al Fields. <br /> <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: President Jerry Bramlett (late), Vice President <br />Al Fields, Secretary Rick Matthews, Member Cary Burnley. <br /> <br />OTHERS PRESENT: City Manager Jack Owen, City Attorney Knox Askins, <br />Director of Public Works Jerry Hodge, and Neil Bishop and Cecil <br />Allen of Turner Collie & Braden. <br /> <br />2. The minutes of the April 16, 1986 meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br />3. Jack Owen discussed his letter regarding the option of buying treated <br />water from the Southeast Treatment Plant. The City of Houston has <br />indicated it would only provide a 10 year contract for raw water <br />but other concessions would be made if the Authority bought treated <br />water such as the City of Houston paying a portion of the transmission <br />lines. Neil Bishop and Cecil Allen presented a probable cost summary <br />on buying treated water versus buying raw water and treating in the <br />Authority's plant. These figures will be finalized and presented at <br />the next meeting, May 21, 1986, at 6:00 P.M. <br /> <br />4.
