Dale Conger discussed progress on easement procurement along with <br />the progress on design of system. He gave out copies of the <br />Corrosion Study for review. Dale stated site needs to be selected <br />for location of central control as soon as possible. <br />Pre-qualifications of contractors was discussed. Bob Herrera <br />stated that the Gity of La Porte Ordinance would be presented to <br />the Board at the next meeting for consideration. Dale Conger <br />discussed chlorination of water from Houston. Discussion was held <br />on operation of La Porte Area Water Authority system and by whom. <br />Bob Herrera offered an office at the Public Works Building for the <br />location of a cental control center. Bob Herrera was asked for <br />the cost to the La Porte Area Water Authority for office. He <br />stated that no rental cost was envisioned at this time. Bob <br />Herrera stated he would send a letter to Espey/Huston after a <br />letter was received from them stating needs of the office. Motion <br />was made by Claude Graves to accept Bob Herrera~s recommendation <br />for City of La Porte to provide a room at $1.00 per year and the <br />La Porte Area Water Authority to pay pro rata share of utilities <br />(except telephone). Seconded by Mike Wadsworth. Motion <br />unanimous. Bob Herrera stated, if all correspondence was <br />received, this item would be placed before La Porte City Council <br />on March 28, 1988. <br />Dale Conger discussed the first draft report of the Corrosion <br />Study and indicated that the final draft would be ready by the <br />next Authority meeting. <br />6. Bob Herrera stated easement from CWA has been granted and <br />distributed minutes of CWA meeting; approving the easement. He <br />stated Dale Conger needs to visit with CWA Engineering for any <br />needed material. Bob Herrera reported on meeting with Harris <br />County Flocc? control District on use of Big Island Slough <br />right-of-way and showed the Board a map of their proposed <br />compromise. Discussed status of Bay Area right-of-way by PPG. He <br />stated letter has been sent to PPG main office and he is awaiting <br />an answer. <br />
