<br />LA FORTE AREA WATER AUTHORITY <br />MINUTES <br />APRIL 10, 1990 <br />1. The meeting was called to order at 6:02 P.M. by President <br />Jerry Bramlett. <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: President Jerry Bramlett, Secretary Claude <br />Graves, and Member Mike Wadsworth <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: None <br />OTHERS PRESENT: Robert Herrera, General Manager; Steve <br />Gillett, Director of Public Works <br />2. The minutes from the March 13, 1990 regular meeting were <br />read. Motion was made by Member Mike Wadsworth and seconded <br />by Secretary Claude Graves to approve the minutes as <br />presented. Motion was unanimous. <br />3. Motion was made by Secretary Claude Graves and seconded by <br />Member Mike Wadsworth to approve payment of Espey, Huston & <br />Associates, Inc. invoice in the amount of One Thousand Six <br />Hundred Seven Dollars and Four Cents ($1,607.04). Motion <br />was unanimous. <br />4. Motion was made by Member Mike Wadsworth and seconded by <br />Secretary Claude Graves to approve payment of Mercer <br />Construction Company invoice in the amount of Thirty-Six <br />Thousand Seven Hundred Ninety Dollars and Forty-five Cents <br />($36,790.45). Motion was unanimous. <br />5. No Engineer's Report was submitted; Engineer not present. <br />6. General Manager Robert Herrera distributed the finalized <br />audited financial statement by KPMG Peat Marwick, Certified <br />Public Accountants for the Authority, to the Board. Z'he <br />Statement has been forwarded to the Texas Water Commission <br />and are available to any other public agencies that issue of <br />capitol financing for the Water Authority. <br />Steve Gillett spoke to Turner, Collie, Braden Construction <br />Engineer to see if there was any change in the progress at <br />the 3EWPP; the earliest completion date of water production <br />is June 1st. The Cities of La Porte, Morgans Point, wind <br />Shoreacres have submitted applications to revise permits, <br />and the Subsidence District will consider our application to <br />extend the permits to the end of the year. <br />A problem remains with cleanup in the Brookglen area, <br />particularly on Somerton. Work was moved to the east s9:de <br />of Somerton to avoid tearing up sidewalks, utilities, trees, <br />and utilized the utility easement in the yard. A commitment <br />was made to sod the yards with the savings realized from riot <br />
