II 't".., .:_:<:...-:.........z._::.~.~..:...:::.:...::~~..r:.....:.... <br /> <br />Page 508 <br /> <br />r <br /> <br />SPECIAL CALLED MEETING OF THE LOMAX CITY COUNCIL <br />January 21, 1980 <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by Mayor Pro-tem Carr at 7:10 P.M. <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Pro-tem Carr: Alderwoman Gardner; Aldermen Womack and <br />Sutherland; City Attorney Fuller; City Secretary Waters <br />Absent: Mayor Malone-in Austin on business <br />Alderman Kuehl-working <br /> <br />There were 4 persons present in the Council Chambers: <br />David Fetzer-City Financial Advisor <br />Pete Fisher-Moroney Beissner Co. <br />John Courville-Bayshore National Bank <br />Debbie Clark-Bayshore Sun <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />Returns of the January 19, 1980 election on consolidation were convassed <br />by Council. Ordinance #186 was read, motion was made by Alderman Womack <br />to approve Ordinance #186 , second to motion by Alderman Sutherland, motion <br />carried 3-for and O-against. . <br />Gardner-for Womack-for Sutherland-for <br /> <br />L <br /> <br />Mayor Pro-tem Carr turned the floor over to the City's Financial Advisor, <br />David Fetzer. Fetzer discussed the needs of Lomax and stated the reason <br />for calling the bond issue under discussion at this date. There was some <br />consern on the part of members of the council concerning problems the <br />fity might encounter if the bond issue passed and the La Porte citizens <br />should fail to approve the consolidation. It was agreeded an ordinance <br />will be drawn stating that the warehoused bonds will be repurchased as <br />soon as possible should the La Porte citizens refuse the consolidation <br />on April 5, 1980. <br /> <br />Ordinance #187 was read by Mayor Pro-tern Carr, an ordinance calling Bond <br />election; providing and fixing details relating thereto; and declaring <br />that said ordinance shall be effective emmediately upon adoption, motion <br />was made by Alderman Sutherland, second by Alderman Womack to adopt Ord- <br />inance #187, motion carried 3-for and O-against. <br />Gardner-for Womack-for Sutherland-for <br /> <br />Motion to adjourn by Alderman Sutherland, second by Alderwoman Gardner, <br />there being no further business to come before the Council, the meeting <br />was duly adjourned at 8:45 P.M. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted: <br /> <br />/i4f2al~4/ <br /> <br />City {Jcretary <br /> <br />L <br /> <br />Approved: <br />.' -, A"/ <br />) / -; /,/d "L <br />I .'t1'-?
