i - • <br />Minutes of the Regular Meeting <br />of the Main Street Committee <br />Jurie 7, 2004 <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />The meeting was called to order by Bill Manning, Chairperson. <br />2.. ROLL CALL <br />Members of the Committee Present: Nick Finan, Debra Dye, Brenda Brown, Bill Manning, <br />Doug Martin, Paul Berner, Pat Muston, Deborah Johnson and Bobby Schlenk. <br />3. CONSIDER APPROVAL OR OTHER ACTION OF THE MAY 3, 2004 MAIN STREET <br />COMMITTEE MINUTES <br />Minutes were approved with Doug Martin making the motion and Pat Muston seconding the <br />motion. <br />4. DISCUSS VISIONING OF JUNE 7, 2004 MEETING <br />A. RECAP ISSUES, CONCERNS, DESIRES FROM LAST MEETING <br />Charles Boyle, a citizen in attendance, requested an opportunity to speak out. He <br />would like the district to include residential on Main St. He would also like the city <br />to deregulate all of Main St. Chairman Manning had the committee review the <br />boundary map, which was prepared from the last meeting. Chairman Manning <br />requested a vote on the boundary as presented. It passed 6-1 with Bobby Schlenk <br />opposing. Nick Finan reviewed the recommendations of the last meeting (see <br />Meeting Notes of May 17 attached). There was general agreement as to what was <br />presented. <br />B. CONTINUE LISTING ISSUES, CONCERNS, DESIRES <br />The committee then reviewed four additional items: parking, sidewalks, height <br />limitations and architectural controls. The committee was charged with considering <br />the discussion and being prepared to make decisions on the options and vote on <br />recommendation. (See Meeting Notes of June 7 attached.) <br />5. DISCUSS SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING <br />This item was delayed until the next meeting. <br />6. DISCUSS HOW TO PREPARE FOR PRESENTAIONS <br />This item was delayed until the next meeting. <br />7. STAFF REPORT ON MORATORIUM AND REQUESTS <br />Staff presented a memo on a request for an exception to the moratorium by Harold Carroll for <br />115 Main St. The committee was informed that staff was not making any recommendation <br />since the Main Street District has not discussed the related item with respect to district <br />regulations. <br />8. ASSIGN TASKS FOR NEXT MEETING <br />Debra Dye was requested to gather infonmation from communities with historic downtowns <br />regarding parking and architectural controls. <br />9. ADJOURN <br />Meeting adjourned at 4:32pm. <br />
