Wants City to <br />provide final recommendation in writing for property owners to review prior to adoption. <br />Mike Shanahan - 200 S. Virginia: Concerned that the proposed setbacks would result in the alley <br />between San Jacinto and Virginia being opened for commercial traffic. <br />B. Don Skelton - 233 San Jacinto: Previously met with the Committee. Likes the idea of <br />residential and commercial uses. <br />Chairperson Manning closed the public hearing at 8:13 P.M. <br />5. DISCUSS AND POSSIBLY TAKE ACTION ON DRAFT RECOMMENDATION FOR MAIN <br />STREET DISTRICT ZONING CLASSIFICATION. <br />Mr. Finan explained the order of events that will occur. Staff will work with the City Attorney to <br />draft the committee's recommendations in ordinance form. The Committee will have an <br />opportunity to review the drafted ordinance and then make a recommendation to the Planning and <br />Zoning Commission. The Planning and Zoning Commission will perform a review and forward <br />their recommendation to City Council for final action. <br />Chairperson Manning stressed the importance of forwarding to the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission, the concerns expressed during the public hearing. These and other issues include <br />boundaries, commerciaUresidential mixed uses, parking, drainage, lighting, sidewalks, setbacks, lot <br />coverage, landscaping, signage, and dumpsters. <br />Motion by Pat Muston to accept the proposal presented for the Main Street District zoning <br />classification, with the noted exceptions and clarification of language. Second by Deborah <br />Johnson. <br />Discussion ensued as to what specific exceptions the Committee wanted to include as part of the <br />motion. Chairperson Manning called fora 15-minute recess at 9:03 P.M. The meeting reconvened <br />at 9:18 P.M. Discussion continued. <br />Motion by Pat Muston to withdraw the previous motion. Second by Deborah Johnson. The motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />Motion by Paul Berner to approve the recommendation for the Main Street District zoning <br />classification as presented by staff. Second by Deborah Johnson. The motion carried with all <br />Committee Members in favor with the exception of Bobby Schlenk and Brenda Brown, who voted <br />in opposition. <br />6. COMMENTS FROM COMMITTEE MEMBERS <br />There were none. <br />7. ADJOURN <br />Chairperson Manning adjourned the meeting at 9:30 P.M. <br />
