Tammy McBeath, Lt. Ed Swenson, Sgt. Marcus Upchurch, Tom Barby <br /> <br />3. MINUTES FROM MAY 7, 2008 WERE APPROVED. <br /> <br />4. DISCUSS ITEMS PROPOSED BY THE LA PORTE POLICE ASSOCIATION <br /> <br />a) At previous meeting, the LPPOA requested the City to be address <br />certificate pay, education pay, longevity pay, schedules, sick time <br />incentive, comp time, procedures/practices, and an association hour <br />pool. <br /> <br />5. REVIEW OF ITEMS COVERED IN AN AGREEMENT MADE BY THE CITY <br />OF LA PORTE <br /> <br />a) Chief Adcox reviewed items covered in a proposed agreement that the <br />City has drafted based on LPPOA requests and City requests: <br />1. Wages - Goal is fair and competitive wages using market <br />approach. <br />2. Incentive Pay - Leave at current rates and adjust to get both <br />education and certificate pay as a way for the City to encourage <br />education. <br />3. Education Requirement - 30 college hours within the first 3 <br />years (it was noted that the Police Academy does provide for <br />some of those college credit hours); 60 college hours for <br />promotion. <br />
