BEGIN DISCUSSIONS ON ITEMS PROPOSED BY THE LA PORTE
POLICE OFFICER'S ASSOICATION AND THE CITY OF LA PORTE

The Association distributed information in regard to specific language that the
representatives of the bargaining team feel comfortable with, but stated that the
language is not intended to be "final" language. The Chief acknowledged that all
language presented at this time, by either party, is subject to review by all
applicable parties (such as the La Porte Police Officers Association, City Council
and legal). The LPPOA had prepared some salary information, but it was not
available for distribution.

After review of the LPPOA information, City proposals were distributed.

All items presented, by the LPPOA and City had been discussed during previous
meetings, and positions on those matters were further clarified in the documents
and discussion.

The City also proposed a salary chart, and a cost estimate based on the officers
receiving an increase of 120% above the difference between current rate and
median. (Example: $1.00 difference in median X 120% = $1.20). The overall
estimated impact would be $182,554.94. The City would propose to distribute this
increase in two increments, one to be paid on 4/1/11 and the other on 10/1/11.

Meet and Confer Minutes

January 17,2011

11Paoe
c
