• • <br />5-102 If any court of competent jurisdiction shall judge invalid the ap- <br />_~ plication of any provision of this Ordinance to a particular prop- <br />-~~ ~ erty, building, or other structure, such judgment shall not affect <br />the application of said provision to any other property, building, <br />or structure not specifically included in said judgment.. <br />ARTICLE SIX: EFFECT OF THE ORDINANCE <br />SECTION 6-100 EFFECT <br />6-101 All buildings erected hereafter, all uses of land or buildings <br />established or changed hereafter, and all structural alterations, <br />enlargements, relocations, and restorations of existing build- <br />ings occurring hereafter shall be subject to the requirements <br />and regulations of this Ordinance, and no land shall be used for <br />and no building shall be erected for or converted to any use other <br />than provided in the regulations prescribed for the district in <br />which it is located, except as hereinafter provided. <br />6-102 Where a building permit for a building or structure has been <br />issued in accordance with law prior to the effective date of this <br />Ordinance, and provided that construction is begun within ninety <br />(90) days of such effective date and diligently prosecuted to <br />completion, said building or structure may be .completed in <br />,., accordance with the approved plans on the basis of which the <br />building permit has been issued, and further, upon completion, <br />may be occupied under a certificate of occupancy by the use for <br />which originally designated, subject thereafter to all applicable <br />provisions of this Ordinance. <br />ARTICLE SEVEN: DEFINITIONS <br />SECTION 7-100 DEFINITIONS For the purpose of this Ordinance, certain <br />terms and words are hereby defined. Words used in the present tense <br />shall include the future; the singular number shall include. the plural and <br />the plural the singular; the word "building" shall include the word "structure"; <br />the word 'shall"• is mandatory and not directive; the word "lot" includes <br />the word "plot''; the term "used for" includes the meaning "designed for" <br />or "intended for''. Said words and terms are as follows: <br />7-101 ~.; Accessory.Building or Use. An "accessory building or use" is <br />' one which: (a) is subordinate to and serves a principal building <br />or principal use; and (b) is subordinate in area, extent, or pur- <br />pose to the principal building or principal use served; and (c) con- <br />tributes to the comfort, convenience, and necessity of occupants <br />_ - of the principal building or principal use served; and (d) is lo- <br />~.' Gated on the same building lot as the principal building or <br />-~ 3 -- <br />~'Y <br />
