JOINT PUBLIC HEARING REZONING THE WEST 1 <br />1135, BLOCK 1136, BLOCK 1137, EAST 1 2 OF <br />EAST 1 2 OF BLOCK 1143, BLOCK 1144, BLOCK <br />1171, BLOCK 1172, BLOCK 1173, EAST 1 2 OF <br />EAST 1 2 OF BLOCK 1179. BLOCK 1180, BLOCK <br />BLOCK <br />PECIAL <br />3 <br />2 OF BLOCK <br />BLOCK 1138, <br />1145, BLOCK <br />BLOCK 1174, <br />1181, AND WEST <br />M RESIDENTIAL <br />R LIGHT INDUSTRY. <br />Mayor Thomas called the Joint Public Hearing with the <br />Planning and Zoning Commission to order to consider <br />the rezoning of the above described properties from <br />Residential to Commercial with Special Use Permits for <br />Light Industry. <br />It was ascertained that notices to all property owners <br />and all property owners within 200 feet of the property <br />under consideration for rezoning were mailed on <br />October 2, 1974, and that a public notice of this hearing <br />was published in the official newspaper of the City on <br />October 3, 1974. <br />• Mayor Thomas asked if there was anyone desiring to speak <br />in favor of the rezoning? Mr. Walter Roberson was <br />recognized and stated this property was part of the <br />property south of Fairmont Parkway that was to have been <br />re-classified and was inadvertently left out of the legal <br />notice. Therefore, an additional hearing was required. <br />Mayor Thomas asked if there was anyone present desiring <br />. to speak in opposition to the rezoning? There being <br />none, declared the hearing closed. <br />The meeting of the City Commission recessed while the <br />Planning and Zoning Commission met on the requests for <br />rezoning. <br />Mayor Thomas called the meeting to order and the <br />recommendation from the Planning and Zoning Commission <br />to approve the rezoning of Lots 9, 10, and 11, Block 72 <br />from Residential to Commercial was read. <br />Motion by Commissioner Price, seconded by Commissioner <br />Kibodeaux to approve the rezoning of Lots 9, 10, and <br />11, Block 72, from Residential to Commercial. Motion <br />carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Christensen, Kibodeaux <br />• Price, and Boyle. <br />NAYS: None. <br />
