•
•
January 29, 1975
After further discussion, motion
J. H. Smith that the request be
by the following vote:
2
by Wm. Love, seconded by
denied. Motion carried
AYES: Wm. Love and J. H. Smith.
NAYS: Lois Compton and Wm. Shedelbower.
Chairman Roberson voted AYE and broke the tie. Chairman
Roberson stated that he would clarify his vote in that
he had denied the rezoning of a complete block requested
by Mrs. Zula Stanford for the building of an apartment
project. He did inform Mr. Harris that he would go and
look at the area again, but would only consider the
rezoning if all the remaining blocks between Mr. Harris's
property and "J" Street were considered .
+ + +
•
3. CONSIDER REQUEST - LLOYD WELLS - LOTS 17 THRU 26, BLOCK 125
FROM RESIDENTIAL TO COMMERCIAL - Mr. Wells was recognized
and requested that the Commission consider rezoning Lots 17
thru 26, Block 125 from Residential to Commercial. Mr. Wells
stated that his property adjoined Mr. Harris' property on
the west side of 7th Street. At the time the property was
purchased he was of the opinion that the property was commercial
classification. He had had a buyer for the property, but
could not sell the property when it was learned that the lots
were residential, backed up to commercial. He asked that the
Commission consider this rezoning if the city was to grow.
After further discussion, motion by Wm. Love, seconded by
J. H. Smith to deny the request. Motion carried by the
following vote:
AYES: Wm. Love and J. H. Smith.
NAYS: Lois Compton and Wm. Shedelbower.
Chairman Roberson voted AYE to break the tie. Chairman
Roberson stated that he had to reject the request for the
same reason he had given in Mr. Harris's request.
+ + +
