<br />Called Meeting 7/29/76 <br />2 <br />4. CONSIDER REZONING REQUEST OF ROBERT A. CHASE AND HORACE MANN - <br />Horace Mann and Bud Sweeny, attended to request the Zoning <br />Commission to consider rezoning Block 980, Lots 1 thru 16 <br />and Block 432, Lots 1 thru 32, La Porte. Mr. Mann's <br />business is primarily the handling of containers or the <br />dispersal of the contents. The property will 'contain a <br />small building for handling the goods. Members present <br />decided that the business was acceptable for that type of <br />commerce. The P & Z Commission declined to rezone the area. <br />+ + + <br />5. CONSIDER 'REZ'ONING REQUEST OF BAY-HOUSTON TOWING COMPANY - <br />FAIRMONT PARK PARKWAY - Evert Talbot and William Teague, re- <br />presenting Bay-Houston Towing Company and Reagent Chemical <br />and Research, Incorporated, requested rezoning of the area <br />bounded by 346.51 acres facing the South side of Fairmont <br />Parkway, 300 feet along the East right-of-way line of the <br />Southern Pacific track, as the West boundary, a line <br />running East-West paralleling Fairmont Parkway as the Southern <br />o boundary, and a line running North-South paralleling the <br />Southern Pacific tracks, to facilitate a trucking operation. <br />The P & Z Commission decided to set .up a building set back <br />line on that property which parallels Fairmont Parkway, <br />extending 100 feet in depth, of which at least 25 feet of <br />the land adjacent to the parkway be a planted shield area. <br />The remaining 75 feet may be used as parking. <br />The P & Z Commission further decided a special use permit <br />be granted to Reagent Chemical and Research Incorporated for <br />the remaining 200 feet of the property. <br />+ + + <br />6.
