Fire Marshal McLaughlin made a <br />report to the Commission as to the condition of the <br />existing building in regard to meeting the City Fire Code. <br />Motion by J. Hebert, seconded by E. Ybarra to grant a <br />variance to allow the portable office building. Motion <br />failed unanimously. <br />+ + + <br />4. CONSIDER REZONING THE AREA~SURR'OUNDING BLOCK 1156 FROM <br />RESIDENTIAL TO' COMMERC'I'AL. Tabled <br />+ + + <br />2 <br />5. CONSIDER CLOSING THE ALLEYS IN BI;OCKS 1'75 AND 176; THAT <br />PORTION 'OF' 'SOUTH' FIFTH STREET WHICH L'IES' BETWEEN BLOCKS <br />O 175 AND' 176. Motion by J. Hebert, seconded by R. Shedelbower <br />to close the alleys in Blocks 175 and 176 and that portion <br />of South Fifth Street which lies between Blocks 175 and 176, <br />subject to receipt of approval by Houston Lighting & Power <br />and the Public Works Department. Motion carried unanimously. <br />+ + + <br />6. MORE ADVANCE TIME FOR AGENDA'S - Motion by J. Hebert, <br />seconded by E. Ybarra to inform Larry Broussard to furnish <br />the Planning & Zoning Commission an agenda or any meetings <br />five days in advance. Any emergency item could be submitted <br />as an addendum.
