CONSIDER REQUEST OF JOE JOHNSON TO REZONE LOTS 1 THRU 6, <br />BLOCK 16, SYLVAN BEACH FIRST SUBDIVISION, TO ALLOW TOWNHOUSE <br />CONSTRUCTION - Mr. Dickson addressed the Commission concerning <br />rezoning lots 1 thru 6, block 16, Sylvan Beach First Sub- <br />division, to allow townhouse construction. <br />Pat Muston spoke in favor of the project, Park Place. <br />M. R. Schelling, Frank Glass, Jack Oliphant, Fred Cary, <br />K. Z. Wright, Howard Hughes, Sally Sanders, and JoAnn Shefford <br />spoke against the Park Place project. <br />Joe Johnson spoke in favor of the project, Park Place. <br />Bob Bucknor, owner of Bayshore Motel and Colonial Apartments, <br />spoke in general terms. <br />The majority of the visitors present from the area were opposed <br />to the project; this was indicated by a show of hands. <br />J. C. Hebert made the motion not to approve rezoning lots 1 <br />thru 6, block 16, Sylvan Beach First Subdivision. Seconded by <br />Eugene Ybarra. Motion passed. <br />• <br />+ + + <br />5. CONSIDER APPROVING VARIANCE REQUEST OF EDWARD P. WOLF OF <br />BUILDING LINES ON LOTS 20 AND 21, BLOCK 34, BEACH PARK <br />ADDITION - Mr. Wolf addressed the Commission to request a <br />vary ance. His proposed house was too big for the lot. After <br />some discussion, Mr. Wolf withdrew his request. <br />+ + + <br />6. CONSIDER REQUEST OF WALTER R. SPRINGALL TO REZONE LOTS 13 <br />AND 14, BLOCK 1373, LA PORTE, FROM RE5~IDENTIAL TO "C" APART- <br />MENT AND COMMERCIAL - Walter Springall spoke to the Commission <br />in regard to rezoning lots 13 and 14, block 1373 to commercial. <br />The Commission deferred action on this request until we had a <br />chance to look at the area. <br />+ + + <br /> <br />
