<br />Minutes, Regular Meeting <br />La Porte Planning & Zoning Commission <br />• May 16, 1985, Page 7 <br />• <br />Chairman Latimer asked Mrs. Margaret Conner to come forth. <br />Mrs. Conner came before the Commission and explained that <br />she wanted a rezoning in order to make her 6-room home into <br />a two bedroom duplex at 215 N. Holmes. <br />Chairman Latimer asked if anyone had any questions for Mrs. <br />Conner. <br />Bobby Blackwell asked Mrs. Conner if she lived there now, <br />but she replied that she did not. She explained that her <br />home had burned in November and they told her to start <br />construction just like a new house. <br />Mrs. Conner explained also, that she was moving to <br />California, but that she would live in 1/2 of the duplex <br />and rent out the other. Mrs. Conner then explained as to <br />what revisions would be made to the house. <br />Chairman Latimer suggested we set this up for a public <br />hearing. <br />Mr_Boyle made a motion we set this up for_a_~ab~,~c He~~igg <br />• ~o~ June 6. 1985. <br />Seconded by Mr. Bruce Hammack. The motion carried with 5 <br />ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Charlie Doug Boyle, Bruce Hammack, Lola Phillips, <br />Bobby Blackwell, and Chairman Doug Latimer <br />Nays: None <br />Chairman Latimer said that Mrs. Conner would be set up for a <br />Public Hearing on June 6, 1985 and at that time a decision will <br />be made. <br />5. Chairman Latimer moved to Item 5 on the Agenda; to Consider <br />Approving the Thoroughfare Plan. He explained that this is <br />an important plan and he asked whether or not the <br />Commission wanted to vote on it or not. <br />City Engineer Bob Speake came forth and gave a review of <br />the Thoroughfare Plan. (For short synopsis, see P4emo <br />attached dated May 13, 1985.) <br />Chairman Latimer asked that John Armstrong come forth and <br />give a staff recommendation to the Thoroughfare Plan.
