• • <br />LA PORTS PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION <br />MINUTES <br />MEETING OF NOVEMBER 5, 1987 <br />Chairman Doug Latimer called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. <br />Members Present: Commissioners Charles Boyle, Jack Gresham, Lola <br />Phillips, Janet Graves, Bobby Blackwell, and Inge Browder <br />Members Absent: None <br />Citv Sta~'f Present: Joel Albrecht, Director of Comm. Development; <br />Mark Lewis, City Inspector; Ervin Griffith, Building Official/ <br />Zoning Administrator; John Armstrong, Asst. City Attorney; <br />A}ina Dye, Inspection Secretary <br />Others Present: Mr•. h}eDuff, Fraternal Order of Eagles; LeRoy <br />Applegate, Trustee for the Eagles; Rod Lind, Representative <br />for the Eagles; Jim Wheeler, McKey Construction; Tommy h}oser, <br />concerned area homeowner; Gary Groda, Groda Enterprises; Glen <br />Sander, interested citizen <br />First item on the agenda was to consider approving the minutes of the <br />October 22, 1987 meetir~g. There was a motion by Janet Graves and a <br />second by Charles Boyle not to approve the minutes and have more <br />detailed information included. The vote was unanimous and the motion <br />carried. <br />Next item was a request by tree Fraternal Order of Eagles to rezone Lots <br />17-32; Black 149; La Porte, from R-1 to General Commercial. <br />Those who spoke in favor of this rezoning were Dick McDuff, LeRoy <br />Applegate an was ointr oduced as th_e con t• pct ors for Jthe Eaglesr to laycthe <br />Construction <br />parking lot. <br />Tommy Moser who resides at 827 South 7th Street, spoke out in <br />opposition of this request. <br />Staff recommended this reauest be denied. <br />• <br />
