<br />Page 4 <br />Minutes of November 21, 1991 <br />Planning & Zoning Commission <br /> <br />Carlos Smith addressed the Commission. <br /> <br />Louisiana Chemical would be willing to provide a letter of commitment to grant to <br />the City a 50 ft. easement when future need arises. However, Louisiana Chemical <br />would like for the 50 ft. to remain private property to be utilized for required <br />setback and requests that no public use of the 50 ft. channel be utilized until the <br />F101 system is completed. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Betty Waters to approve the site plan submitted by <br />Louisiana Chemical pending satisfaction of the conditions outlined in the October <br />30, 1991 letter from the Assistant City Manager to H. Carlos Smith. This letter is <br />attached as a part of these minutes. <br /> <br />The motion was seconded by Eugene Edmonds. All were in favor and the motion <br />passed. <br /> <br />7:15 PM - Break <br /> <br />7:30 PM - Reconvene for Public Hearing <br /> <br />John Armstrong returns to the meeting. <br /> <br />6) CALL PUBLIC HEARING TO ORDER <br />CONSIDER SPECIAL CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT REQUEST #SCU91-001 <br />WHICH SEEKS APPROVAL FOR DEVELOPMENT OF A BOAT AND R.V. <br />STORAGE FACILITY TO BE LOCATED AT 10601 FAlRMONT PARKWAY. <br /> <br />Mr. Lewis told the Commission that a Special Conditional Use permit was requested <br />by Mr. Herb McElveen, Owner/Proprietor of the "Storage Station"(10600 Fairmont <br />Parkway), to convert an existing facility at the location into a storage facility for <br />boats and recreational vehicles. <br /> <br />Public Notice, informing residents of the request, was published in the <br />newspaper and notice was sent to 23 property owners whose property is <br />located within 20 ft. from the area in question. No replies in opposition were <br />received. <br /> <br />In an effort to conform with screening requirements, Mr. McElveen agreed to plant <br />a mixture of Wax Myrtle and Crepe Myrtle trees along the exposed portions of the <br />property perimeter. <br />
