Box 115 <br />La Porte, Texas 77572 <br /> <br />RE: Baygreen Colony Subdivision <br />variance Request <br /> <br />Dear Madam or Sir: <br /> <br />We request a variance concerning the omission of a 50-foot <br />tangent between curb no. 1 and curb no. 2 in the entrance <br />roadway, a private drive, through the subdivision. The reason <br />for the request for variance is because of the limited area <br />available on the site needed to achieve the desired degree of <br />privacy for the subdivision. The elimination of the 50-foot <br />requirement between the reverse curves allows the development to <br />utilize the reverse curve to obstruct one's view from Broadway <br />through the subdivision. The specific rule within your standards <br />is noted on Page 39 under Paragraph 5.01, Table 5-2, "La Porte <br />Street System Horizontal Geometric Design Standard". The <br />specific rule within the table refers to "tangent between reverse <br />curves" and a requirement of 50 feet for local streets. <br /> <br />Based on correspondence and discussions with your staff, we <br />understand that the City has no objections to this. Attached is <br />a copy of our proposed subdivision plat for your review. Please <br />advise if you have any questions.
