For the purpose of marketing a recorded subdivision, one (1) off <br />premise sign of not more than one hundred fifty (150) square feet may <br />be permitted for each recorded subdivision in any zoning district. Such <br />sign shall not be placed within twenty-five (25) feet of any property <br />line and shall not exceed twenty (20) feet in height. The permit for <br />such sign shall expire, unless renewed, two (2) years after the date of <br />issuance of such permit, and provided that each request for permit <br />shall be accompanied by a license and permit fee posted by the <br />respective sign hanger in the amount of three hundred dollars (300.00) <br />for the purpose of ensuring proper location, maintenance, and removal <br />of the respective sign. <br />Section 10 - 1007 Permits <br />1. Any person desiring to erect or place a free standing, attached or <br />portable sign on any property shall first apply to the Building Official <br />for a permit. Permits are not required for signs less than five (5) <br />i square feet in area. <br />2. Any person applying to erect or place a free standing sign on any <br />property shall submit to the Building Official the following <br />information: <br />A. A survey of the property which indicates the proposed sign <br />location. <br />B. An engineered design for signs greater than 8 feet in height. <br />C. A design of the sign and its support member for signs less than <br />8 feet in height. <br />3. Permit fees shall be in accordance with the current City of La Porte <br />Fee Schedule Ordinance. <br />Section 10 - 1008 Enforcement <br />1. Any violation of this Section shall be subject to the penalties provided <br />in Section 11-700 of this Ordinance. <br />
