• <br />Page 8 of 10 <br />Planning & Zoning Commission <br />Minutes of October 17, 1996 <br /> <br />Bill Strong, 2711 Crescent View, addressed the Commission. Mr. Strong <br />spoke on his own behalf and on behalf of the "Old Hwy. 146 Committee" . <br />Mr. Strong asked the Commission to consider his remarks relating to the <br />previous zoning item. He added that the property could just as easily be <br />zoned residential as Neighorhood Commercial. At this point in time, he <br />feels the property should not be rezoned. <br />Bernard Legrand, 3115 Lane Court, addressed the Commission. Mr. <br />Legrand feels the property should not be rezoned. <br />Gerald Cooney, 200 Bay Colony, addressed the Commission. Mr. <br />Cooney would like to see a comprehensive plan of what the applicant <br />proposes, at which time he may be in favor. <br />XIII. CLOSE PUBLIC HEARING <br />Chairman Waters closed the Public Hearing at 7:55 PM. <br />XIV. CONSIDER RECONIlVIENDATION TO CITY COUNCIL REGARDING ZONE <br />CHANGE REQUEST R96-006. <br />A motion was made Eugene Edmonds to table Zone Change Request #R96-006 until the <br />November 21, 1996, meeting and public hearing that will be held at 6:00 PM in the City <br />Hall Council Chambers at 604 W. Fairmont Parkway, La Porte, Texas. The motion was <br />seconded by Chuck Engelken. All were in favor and the motion passed. <br />The item was tabled in order to give the applicants an opportunity to provide more <br />information for the Commission's consideration. <br />XV. OPEN PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER ZONING ORDINANCE <br />AMENDMENTS TO NON-CONFORMING BUII.DINGS, STRUCTURES, USES <br />AND LOTS OF RECORD, SECTIONS 4200 AND 4300. <br />Chairman Waters opened the Public Hearing at 8:05 PM. <br />Mr. Rankin reviewed the proposed amendments to the Zoning Ordinance regarding non- <br />conforming uses. <br />A. PROPONENTS <br />There were none. <br />B. OPPONENTS <br />There were none. <br />
