CARTWRIGHT HAS REQUESTED FROM YOU A ZONING CHANGE <br />FOR ALL TRACTS OF PROPERTY BOUNDED BY POLK ST ON THE NORTH, A BAYOU <br />ON BLOCK 717 ON THE EAST, THE ALLEY BETWEEN MAIN & POLK ON THE <br />SOUTH AND 16TH ST ON THE WEST. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL CONVERSATIONS <br />WITH MR. CARTWRIGHT, AND AM IN AGREEMENT WITH HIS REQUEST. <br />AS THE PROPERTY OWNER OF THE EFFECTED LOTS IN BLOCK 717 OF THE <br />TOWN OF LA PORTE, I ALSO BELIEVE THAT BOTH THE LANDOWNERS AND THE <br />CITY OF LA PORTE WILL BE BETTER SERVED IF, AT THE ALLEY DIVIDING <br />MAIN FROM POLK, THE "ENTIRE TRACT" OF PROPERTY NORTH OF SAID ALLEY <br />TO POLK STREET BE ZONED LIGHT INDUSTRIAL. <br />IN THIS WAY MAIN ST. REMAINS COMMERCIAL FOR FUTURE PLANNING <br />AND THE SOUTH SIDE OF POLK ST. WILL BE ZONED COMPATIBLY WITH THE <br />NORTH SIDE OF POLK ST. <br />AS I AM ALSO IN FAVOR OF THE ZONE CHANGE, I REQUEST THAT THE <br />ZONING ON THE "ENTIRE TRACT" BE ZONED LIGHT INDUSTRIAL BY THE <br />PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION AT THE NEXT MEETING OF THE LA PORTE <br />CITY COUNCIL. <br />SINCERELY, <br />
