OTHER <br />City Secretary's Office <br />Redistricting map, polling locations, and extension of voting hours were approved by City Council. The map <br />and brief will be submitted to the Justice Department for approval. <br />The Mayor held a memorial ceremony on .September 11, 2002 at the La Porte Community Library. <br />Human Resources <br />The annual Health & Safety Fair was held on Friday, September 13, 2002. There were a total of 199 employees <br />and retirees who attended. Twenty-eight (28) vendors also participated. <br />The big prize winners were: <br />His and Hers Bicycles <br />Weight Bench <br />Treadmill <br />Bobby O'Sullivan (Planning) <br />Louis Rigby (Retiree) <br />Wendy Swink (Court) <br />Parks Department <br />There were approximately 100-125 people at the 10~' Anniversary celebration of the La Porte Recreation and <br />Fitness Center, held on August 29, 2002 with entertainment furnished by "Pick & Grin." <br />Staff has tentatively scheduled a dedication ceremony and swimming party at the newly remodeled San Jacinto <br />Pool on Sunday, September 22, from 12:00 unti14:00 pm. The public is invited. Police officers will serve hot dogs <br />and refreshments at no charge as part of their community service summer pool program. <br />
