There is <br /> <br />attached to this Ordinance as Exhibit "C", and incorporated by reference herein and made <br /> <br />a part hereof for all purposes, the publisher's affidavit of publication of notice of said <br /> <br />hearing. <br /> <br />Section 4. The City Council of the City of La Porte hereby finds, determines and <br /> <br />declares that all prerequisites of law have been satisfied, and hereby determines and <br /> <br />declares that the amendments to Chapter 106, Section 106-62 of the Code of Ordinances <br /> <br />of the City of La Porte, are desirable and in furtherance of ~~Ami~1JE~J~j~~ifes'rslatEfa <br />~fier€ifYmf~~6iItelSI:~iifiP.itelfi.e~L~em:~ijl <br /> <br />Section 5. <br /> <br />Section 106-62, "Membership and structure", of the Code of <br /> <br />Ordinances of the City of La Porte, Texas is hereby amended and shall hereafter read as <br /> <br />follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 106-62. Membership and structure. <br /> <br />(a) The city planning and zoning commission shall consist of a member <br />from each of the six council districts, a chairman, and two alternate <br />members (Alternate Position 1 and Alternate Position 2) who are <br />resident citizens and qualified voters of the City. The term of the six <br />members from the six council districts shall coincide with the term <br />of office of the councilperson for said district. The term of office for <br />the chairman shall coincide with the term of office of the mayor of <br />the city. The term. of office for each individual alternate member <br />shall coincide with the term of office of Council person at Large A <br />and Councilperson at Large B, respectively. Vacancies shall be <br />filled for the unexpired term of any member whose position <br />becomes vacant for any cause in the same manner as the original <br />appoin.tment was made. ' <br /> <br />. (b) Each district member who is appointed shall be a resident of the <br />district from which he is appointed at the time of his appointment <br />and continuously throughout his tenure in office. <br />
