THE APPLICANT, <br />EDDIE V. GRAY, SEEKS TO REZONE THE PROPERTY FROM GENERAL <br />COMMERCIAL (GC) TO LOW-DENSITY RESIDENTIAL (R-1) TO PROVIDE FOR <br />SINGLE-FAMILY DWELLINGS. <br />Chairperson Muston opened the public hearing at 6:20 p.m. <br />Mr. Malik presented staff's report. The applicant, Eddie Gray, has requested a rezone <br />from General Commercial to Low-Density Residential for 15.6 acres along both sides of <br />Farrington Blvd. at Fairmont Pkwy. for the purpose of constructing single-family <br />dwellings in the proposed Fairmont Park East, Section 12. <br />Notices of public hearing were mailed to property owners within 200' of the subject area. <br />Of the 55 mailed, the City received one response in opposition. <br />Staff recommended approval of the rezone. <br />Motion by Hal Lawler to recommend to City Council, approval of #R05-001 to rezone <br />15.6 acres of land along both sides of Farrington Boulevard at Fairmont Parkway from <br />General Commercial (GC) to Low-Density Residential (R-1). Second by Dottie <br />Kaminski.
