CONDUCT PUBLIC HEARING AND CONSIDER RECOMMENDATION TO CITY <br />COUNCIL REGARDING REZONE REQUEST #R05-001 FOR 15.6 ACRES OF LAND <br />LOCATED ALONG BOTH SIDES OF FARRINGTON BOULEVARD AT FAIRMONT <br />PARKWAY, FURTHER DESCRIBED AS TR 31 & TR 32, SITUATED IN THE W.M. <br />JONES SURVEY, A-482, LA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS. THE APPLICANT, <br />EDDIE V. GRAY, SEEKS TO REZONE THE PROPERTY FROM GENERAL <br />COMMERCIAL (GC) TO LOW-DENSITY RESIDENTIAL (R-1) TO PROVIDE FOR <br />SINGLE-FAMILY DWELLINGS. <br />Chairperson Muston opened the public hearing at 6:20 p.m. <br />Mr. Malik presented staff's report. The applicant, Eddie Gray, has requested a rezone <br />from General Commercial to Low-Density Residential for 15.6 acres along both sides of <br />Farrington Blvd. at Fairmont Pkwy. for the purpose of constructing single-family <br />dwellings in the proposed Fairmont Park East, Section 12. <br />Notices of public hearing were mailed to property owners within 200' of the subject area. <br />Of the 55 mailed, the City received one response in opposition. <br />Staff recommended approval of the rezone. <br />Motion by Hal Lawler to recommend to City Council, approval of #R05-001 to rezone <br />15.6 acres of land along both sides of Farrington Boulevard at Fairmont Parkway from <br />General Commercial (GC) to Low-Density Residential (R-1). Second by Dottie <br />Kaminski. The motion carried. <br />Ayes: Lawler, Kaminski, <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br />Berner, Barrera, Finch, Bird and Muston <br />Chairperson Muston suspended Item 7 on the agenda to move to Item 8. <br />8. CONDUCT PUBLIC HEARING AND CONSIDER RECOMMENDATION TO CITY <br />COUNCIL REGARDING REZONE REQUEST #R05-003 FOR THE PROPERTY <br />LOCATED AT 11820 NORTH "H" STREET NEAR SENS ROAD. THE PROPERTY IS <br />.FURTHER DESCRIBED AS TR 239A BEING 2.08 ACRE TRACT OF LAND OUT OF <br />OUTLOT 239, LA PORTE OUTLOTS, IN THE ENOCH BRINSON SURVEY, <br />ABSTRACT-5, LA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS. MR. RICHARD DETWILER <br />OF CHEM COAST, INC., SEEKS TO REZONE THE PROPERTY FROM LOW- <br />DENSITY RESIDENTIAL (R-1) TO GENERAL COMMERCIAL (GC). <br />
