The purpose of the proposed changes are to correlate the <br />provisions of the Zoning Ordinance with the Traffic and Vehicle Ordinance for suitable <br />placement of trucking facilities and proper use of the City's truck routes. <br /> <br />The Commission requested additional information on the matter and felt the item should <br />be tabled until a workshop could be held. <br /> <br />B. CONSIDER RECOMMENDATION TO CITY COUNCIL REGARDING A PROPOSED <br />AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 106 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES BY AMENDING SECTION <br />106-521, TABLE A, "INDUSTRIAL USES", REGARDING TRUCKING TERMINALS IN LIGHT <br />INDUSTRIAL (L1) AND HEAVY INDUSTRIAL (HI) ZONING DISTRICTS WHEN LOCATED ON <br />AUTHORIZED TRUCK ROUTES WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF LA PORTE. <br /> <br />Motion by Nick Barrera, to table the item for further discussion at a future workshop, the <br />amendment to Chapter 106-521 of the Code of Ordinances. Second by Kirby Linscomb. ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS <br /> <br />Debra Dye, Main Street Coordinator, updated the Commission on the progress of the Main Street <br />Design Package. The Main Street Advisory Board and Main Street Design Committee are <br />making great strides in putting together three design related documents that will be moving <br />forward at the same time: <br /> <br />1. Main Street Design Certificate <br />The proposed certificate process will consist of anything that aesthetically changes the <br />exterior of the structure or site. The certificate will be needed before a permit can be <br />awarded. <br /> <br />2. Main Street Enhancement Grant <br />The La Porte Development Corporation Board has budgeted $200.000.00 to be utilized to <br />assist Main Street property owners in beautifying their property. This will be a <br />reimbursement grant program. <br /> <br />3. Main Street Design Guidelines & Resources Services <br />The general concept of the Design Guidelines is to utilize the north side of the 300 block <br />of Main Street as a template for architectural styles in the Main Street District.
