<br />Meeting called to order by Chairman Hal Lawler at 5:00 p.m.
<br />2. CONSIDER APPROVAL OF THE NOVEMBER 20, 2008, MEETING MINUTES
<br />Motion by Paul Berner to approve the Minutes of November 20, 2008 with correction to 3-A and
<br />3-B, correct the spelling of Gary Maybrey. Second by Kirby Linscomb. The motion carried.

<br />3. CONSIDER A THIRD ONE-YEAR EXTENSION REQUEST FOR SPECIAL CONDITIONAL USE
<br />PERMIT #SCU05-008 FOR THE PRESERVE AT TAYLOR BAYOU.
<br />Motion by Paul Berner to recommend to City Council to deny the extension of Special Conditional
<br />Use Permit #SCU08-008. Second by Dottie Kaminski. The Motion carried.

<br />4. OPEN PUBLIC HEARING TO RECEIVE CITIZEN INPUT ON REZONE REQUEST #R08-004 FOR
<br />0.5732 ACRE OF LAND LOCATED ALONG NORTH 71" STREET, FURTHER DESCRIBED AS
<br />LOTS 25 THRU 32, BLOCK 101, TOWN OF LA PORTE, JOHNSON HUNTER SURVEY,
<br />ABSTRACT 35, LA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS. THE APPLICANT, DECKER MCKIM ON
<br />BEHALF OF PRESTON COPELAND (OWNER), SEEKS TO REZONE THE PROPERTY FROM
<br />MEDIUM DENSITY RESIDENTIAL (R-2) TO GENERAL COMMERCIAL (GC).
<br />Chairman Lawler opened the public hearing at 5:11 p.m.
<br />A. STAFF PRESENTATION
<br />Staff's Report was presented by Masood Malik, City Planner. The applicant, Decker
<br />McKim on behalf of Preston Copeland (owner), is requesting a zone change from
<br />medium density residential (R-2) to general commercial (GC) for the purpose to allow
<br />additional construction and parking for adjacent commercial establishments.
<br />The subject property is 0.57 acre of land, described as lots 25 thru 32, block 101, town of
<br />La Porte.
