Call to Order. <br />Meeting called to order by Chairman Hal Lawler at 6:02 p.m. <br /> <br />2. Administer Oath of Office to Reappointed member Lou Ann Martin (District 5). <br />Clark Askins, City Attorney, administered the oath to re-appointed member Lou Ann Martin. Lou <br />Ann Martin is newly appointed to District 5. <br /> <br />3. Consider Approval of the December 16, 2010, regular meeting minutes. <br />Motion by Dottie Kaminski to approve the regular meeting minutes of December 16, 2010. <br />Second by Doretta Finch. Open Public Hearing to receive citizen input on Rezone Request #10-92000001 for property <br />located at 11810 North H Street, further described as TR 239C being a 1.002 acre tract of <br />land out of Outlot 239 in the La Porte Outlots, recorded in Volume 61, page 374 of the Deed <br />Records of Harris County, Enoch Brinson Survey, Abstract No.5, La Porte, Harris County, <br />Texas. Carlos Jimenez and Myrna Resendez, property owners, seek to have this property <br />rezoned from Large Lot Residential (LL) to General Commercial (GC) for operating a truck <br />maintenance shop. <br />Chairman Hal Lawler opened the Public Hearing at 6:29pm. <br /> <br />A. Staff Presentation <br />Masood Malik, City Planner, gave staff's report. <br /> <br />Nine public hearing notices were mailed to property owners within 200' of the subject <br />property; Staff received three responses opposed to the request. <br /> <br />B. Proponents <br />There were none. <br /> <br />C. Opponents <br />1. George Houth of 11806 North H Street, voiced his concern of his health and real <br />estate value if the rezone request were granted. <br />2. Fred Hanzelka of 11803 North H Street, spoke against the rezone request. <br />3. Charles Jones of 804 North H Street, asked the commission to deny the rezone <br />request. <br /> <br />D.
