Open Public Hearing to receive citizen input on Rezone Request #11- 92000003, for vacant <br /> property owned by Sulzer Inc. located at 11518 Old La Porte Road, further described as <br /> TRS 333B & W 168ft. of Lot 348, E 168ft. of Lot 348 & TR 333A, and 347 A -2 & 347A -A1, <br /> situated in the Enoch Brinson Survey, Abstract No. 5, Harris County, Texas. Billy Coleman <br /> of Sulzer Inc., seeks to have this property rezoned from Large Lot (LL) to Light Industrial <br /> (LI) for Turbo Expansion services. <br /> Mark Follis, Sulzer Inc. representative requested to withdraw the zone change from consideration <br /> at this time. No action was taken on this item. <br /> 7. Consider Major Development Site Plan for proposed Sens Road Distribution Center to be <br /> located at 1445 Sens Road. <br /> Masood Malik, City Planner, gave staffs report. <br /> Dan Zoch of the Carson Company, spoke in favor of the request. Mr. Zoch informed the <br /> Commission the warehouse will look a lot like Port Crossing. Carson Company currently has a <br /> tenant committed for 75% occupancy of the facility at this time. <br /> Motion by Les Bird to approve the Major Development Site Plan for the proposed Sens Road <br /> Distribution Center to be located at 1445 Sens Road. Second by Doretta Finch. Motion Carried. <br /> Ayes: Hal Lawler, Les Bird, Dottie Kaminski, Danny Earp, David Janda, Doretta Finch, <br /> and Lou Ann Martin. <br /> Nays: None <br /> Abstain: None <br /> 8. Administrative Reports <br /> The kick -off meeting for the Comprehensive Plan Update is tentatively scheduled for May 16 <br /> There may be a Special Called Planning and Zoning meeting on May 17 <br /> Staff received a proposed development request for a Chevron Service Station at Fairmont and <br /> Bay Area Blvd. The applicant is planning to add a restaurant. <br /> 9. Commission Comments <br /> Dottie Kaminski asked staff about the abandoned Ice vendor project on Broadway. Staff will <br /> inquire with Inspections Division and get back with the Commission. <br /> A. Matters appearing on agenda <br /> B. Inquiry of staff regarding specific factual information or existing policy <br /> 10. Adjourn <br /> Motion by Dottie Kaminski to adjourn. Second by Doretta Finch.
