<br />• MINUTES <br />OF THE <br />REGULAR MEETING OF THE RISK MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE <br />JULY 31, 1984 <br />1. The meeting was called to order by Director of Administrative <br />Services Bob Herrera at 10:00 A.M. <br />Members of the Committee Present: Risk Management Officer <br />Jac son Ray, Mem ers Jo n Armstrong, Steve Gillett, <br />Debbie Cole, Laura Hall, Champ Dunham, Doug De La Morena <br />Members of the Committee Absent: Lt. James La Fitte <br />2. An address was made by Robert Herrera concerning Policy <br />Statement Progress. He stated that the Policy Statement <br />had been accepted by the City Manager. Each department <br />would receive a formal statement concerning the acceptance <br />of the Risk Management Committee. <br />3. Risk Management Officer Jackson Ray presented transparencies <br />• on Insurance Policy Review including the following: <br />A. General and Automobile Liability Coverage <br />B. Personal Injury - Errors and Omissions <br />C. Building and Contents - All Risk Coverage <br />D. Automobile and Mobile Equipment - Physical Damage Coverage <br />He stated that on Item A, the City was self-insured and the <br />premium for that coverage was $20,110.00. He stated that there <br />is a blanket limit on Item B in the amount of $8,075,340. <br />There is a $1,000.00 deductible on Item D and a $5,000.00 deductible <br />on Item C. A copy of this information is attached as part of <br />the minutes. <br />4. A transparency was presented on the History of Incurred Loses. <br />A copy of that information is attached as part of these minutes. <br />The decrease in loss experience with 30% increase of employees <br />since 1980. <br />5. A transparency was presented on Insurance Premium Summary. <br />Information was provided by Ken Strum Insurance Agency. We have <br />better coverage than in the 1982-1983 period. Studies and <br />insurance bidding was very beneficial for the City of La Porte <br />concerning this .coverage. A transparency was then presented <br />on premium payments over the last several years. A copy of <br />this information is attached as part of these minutes. <br />• 6. The Rimco Manual was not available for distribution. <br />
