• <br />RURAL, LARGE LOT SINGLIE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT COMMITTEE <br />- MINUTES OF SEPTEMBER 2, 2004 <br />The meeting was conducted in the City Hall Council Chambers at 7:00. P.M. There is no audiotape <br />available for this meeting. <br />COMMITTEE MEMBERS PRESENT: Doretta Finch, Wayne Knox, Sidney Grant; Sue Sabin, Donna <br />Medford, Bill Manning, Leroy Jones, Delecia Turner, Rev._Tom - <br />Rawls, .and Chris Santiago <br />COMMITTEE MEMBERS ABSENT: Nathen_Brettinez, Bebe Mora; Coring Garcia, and Tim Carter <br />.CITY STAFF PRESENT: ~ ,Interim Planning Director Wayne Sabo, Planning Coordinator <br />Masood Malik, and Planning & Zoning Commissioner Nick <br />Barrera serving as Meeting Facilitator , <br />1.: WELCOME BY PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION CHAIRPERSON BETTY WATERS <br />Planning and Zoning Chairperson Betty Waters was unable to attend the meeting. Planning and <br />Zoning Commissioner Doretta Finch opened the meeting and welcomed everyone. <br />2. INTRODUCTION AND OPENING REMARKS <br />Planning and Zoning Commissioner Nick Barrera introduced himself. , Mr. Barrera served as meeting <br />facilitator. <br />3. ELECT CHAIRPERSON AND VICE CHAIRPERSON <br />By general consensus, the Committee nominated and accepted Delecia, Turner as Chairperson and <br />Leroy Jones as Vice Chairperson. <br />4. OVERVIEW, ROLE,'AND GOALS OF THE COMMITTEE <br />Mr. Barrera described-the Lomax area. He presented case studies, along with.sample surveys, and <br />. plats of the area <br />5. DISCUSSION AND REVIEW OF PUBLIC INPUT ON THE RURAL, SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL <br />DISTRICT CLASSIFICATION • . <br />The Committee was provided an information packet, which included: <br />Memo from Guy Sutherland dated August 3, 2004 re. Matters of. Concerri <br />^ Memo from John Joems dated August 24, 2004 re. Rural Development Standards <br />^ Excerpt from Code of Ordinances Section 106-333, Table B, Residential Area Requirements <br />showing current and possible proposed requirements. <br />^ Numerous sections from the Code of Ordinances as reference material <br />Mr. Barrera asked members to-.give their thoughts and state their preference with regard to the. typical. <br />subdivision versus the large lot subdivision. Initially, Committee Members expressed their personal <br />viewpoints, but then focused discussions on-the area as a whole:. There was some discussion on <br />- 'maximum lot width at 90'-100'. No decisions/recommendations were made. <br />6. CLOSING COMMENTS <br />For the next meeting, the Committee requested staff prepare two aerials, 1) the Lomax area, and 2) <br />the Lomax area with remaining large tracts identified.. - <br />The meeting concluded at 8:30.:.. <br />
